The Thompson Fire

On Tuesday evening, I had the opportunity to volunteer/attend a Thompson function in Nashville, TN. The Senator spoke briefly on some key themes including: federalism, inalienable rights, and the danger of radical Islam to Western culture. Most of the evening was spent more casually, as the Senator chatted casually with guests.
Your author even had a few moments to chat with the Senator about our shared hometown of Lawrenceburg, TN. Like all good Southerners, within 30 seconds we had managed to find relatives who knew each other– his father and my grandfather were friends.
Experiencing a moment of such historic value was exciting. Seeing a candidate that was this humble and straight-talking was exhilarating.
